Job Description
Create or visualize an idea and produce a design/ sketches by hand and using digital drawing software.
Keep up to date with emerging fashion trends as well as general trends relating to fabrics, colors and shapes
Liaise closely with sales, buying and production teams on an ongoing basis to ensure items suit the customer, market and price points
Collaborating with team members to select seasonal themes, make edits to line, and create new concepts
Selecting fabrics and trimsReviewing product for fitting sample during presentation and adapt existing designs to be feasible for mass production
visit trade shows and manufacturers to source, select and buy fabrics as needed
Visit stores regularly for feedback during collection launching
Drive and evolve a Technical Design strategy including operations, methods, protocols, standards, and measures of effectiveness
Analyzing designs and determining required resources and project deadlines
Follow up & visit manufacturers regarding models, quantities, colors & delivery dates and reporting back to senior management
Inspect final & finished products to ensure that they are free from defects
Handling a range of admin duties.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in fine arts or applied arts or related field
CLO is a must
2+ years of experience in homewear designs
In-depth understanding of design principles, fashion, and the fashion industry
General knowledge in areas such as pattern cutting, grading and garment construction
Manufacturer management skills & experience with travel possibility
Excellent design and conceptual skills
Excellent sense of style and color and Ability to create eye-catching designs
To enjoy following trends in fashion and clothing
Must be advanced User in Tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator & sketching
Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Accurate and precise attention to detail
Deadline-driven and committed to quality
Self-motivated and self-directed
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
